Emma 1st Birthday

I am a little late in posting this, but here is a picture of Emma and her 1st birthday cake. She had so much fun at her party and she loved all the attention! She was more interested in looking at everyone watching her with her cake than eating the cake! LOL Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family has been passing the stomach virus around but overall we had a great day! And best of all, my DH got me a Cricut Expression on Black Friday!! Now if I only had time to play with it :(

But this is what I came up with while watching my "almost" 1 year old baby girl. LOL! She turns one in 2 days and is a handful! I'm dreading the time when she starts to walk. Fall wreath

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day Weekend! Brent worked a little on our fence that got blown down two weeks ago in a storm and I played with Emma. Tomorrow is my last day of vacation and I am NOT ready to go back! I have spent the last 10 days playing with Emma and spending time with my family and I have loved it! I even got some stamping done! Fun digi stamp

This was a fun digi stamp to color, ~~unfortunately when I saved it I didn't label who the creator was. If anyone knows please let me know so I can give them credit.~~ The creator of the image is Tracy Dawn at the Stamping Boutique. I have tried to go through my images and make sure they are all labeled with the company who they belong to but I can't figure this one out! It has been driving me crazy! Anyways I used the SC295 sketch which was a challenge because my image was too big, but I think it turned out ok.

Meet the Teacher

I made this fun birthday card using a digi stamp. I have bought a few digi stamps and got some free digi's from the Crafters Digital Art Center, but I have never had a chance to play with one of them yet. I have to say it was really easy and I like the idea of not having to store blocks of wood or rubber. The only storage I had to have was on my computer! I'm totally liking this idea and the ease of getting the images. No driving across the country to find a stamp store since there is not a local one here. I used the SCS sketch SC286 to make this card and it was a really fun card to make.

Page w/ picture of first teeth

I actually did this page a month ago but haven't had time to post. Emma is getting so big and is now crawling. She is a mover! Here is a page with the first photo I was able to take of her 2 first teeth. Sorry but the photo of my page doesn't really do justice to her big smile and 2 bottom front teeth. She now has 6 teeth and loves to chew on everything. It is hard to believe she is already 10 months old. Time has definitely flown. I used the SBSC 180 sketch challenge for the page. Fun Christmas layout

I finally got a chance to work on a few scrapbook pages. Here is one I did with Emma in front of her first Christmas Tree. I used the SBSC229 sketch. This is the first sketch I have used that has so many components and it took forever! It was fun but trying to add so many pieces and get them to match is hard, but I did get rid of a few scraps!!!

I took this picture and almost erased it. I had a white blanket and a white shirt on Emma and somehow my camera flash went crazy. I downloaded it to my computer and then fell in love with it! Emma's First Week Layout

Sorry I haven't posted lately. We have been on vacation and we went to N.C. to see my SIL. We had a wonderful time visiting with our family and Emma did so well on the trip. We drove and stopped at night. She slept most of the trip and did so great in the car! Here is a layout I did using an old SCS scrapbook challenge (SBSC222). The first page is the actual challenge and then I flipped and changel the sketch a little to do the matching 2nd page. Emma is now 6 months and 1 week and I am so behind! I only have the 1st week finished. LOL. Gotta find some more time to craft!

Baby card and Diaper Cake

Here is the card I made for a friend who had her baby girl this Friday! I haven't made a card for at least 2 months and this one I made in a hurry but I think it turned out cute. I colored the image with pastels and cut with Nesties then mounted on paper. My ink pad smudged on the side of the card so I just made more smudges on the side to make it look like I had planned it LOL! I also made a diaper cake for the first time for the shower. I made the bottom layer too small but it still was cute. I put Tylenol, baby gas medicine, wash clothes, bibs, diaper medicine and a nail kit on small sticks and stuffed into the cake.

I hope everyone had a great holiday! We had snow and so we stayed home where it was nice and warm. We didn't get to spend it with our families like we had planned but we still had a nice quiet time with just the three of us. Emma enjoyed spending the day with Mommy and Daddy and didn't much care for her gifts. Santa got off easy this year with her being only 2 months but next year beware Santa!
Here is a layout I made of Emma right after she was born. I used the SBSC107 sketch but changed it a little to fit my page. I think it turned out pretty cute!

I have realized lately that I have become one of those people who love to forward emails. So I would like to apologize to all my email friends for flooding their email accounts with jokes and fun reads. I recently received and email and thought that it was beautiful and decided to post it on my blog. I am not sure who actually wrote it so I am afraid I can't give credit, but I think it is a wonder prayer blessing our friends and families who we sometimes only get to correspond through the computer with.

Emma's first scrap book page

This is the first page of Emma's scrapbook and as I have mentioned before I don't scrapbook. So I am really proud of how it turned out! I used a white page and scored it with my Scor-Pal then ran black chalk along lines and blended it. I was going for an all black and white page but didn't have any embellishments that went along with the theme so I used some pink on the page. The top pictures were taken at week 10, the bottom left picture at 20 weeks and the bottom left at 36 weeks. The 36 week picture is 3D and if you look closely you will see her face, which is facing the left.

A card that is long overdue!

WOW! This is the first card I have stamped since Emma was born and it has taken me a week to finish! I used the Magenta stamp Q0394 for the flowers, colored them with chalks, cut them out, layered them on the card. Then used a border punch on some Basic Grey Porcelain paper to create the border. The Feel Better Soon stamp is from My Favorite Things Bunny Slipper set. Then I added some rhinestones to finish.

Emma Update: Emma loves to be cuddled and I am enjoying it now before I have to go back to work on Dec 12th. She actually slept 7 hours the other night before waking up! My nieces came down for the weekend and worked on their scrapbooks and I am now determined to make a scrapbook for Emma. I'm not a big scrapbooker but I am very excited about starting this new project! So expect to see some layouts with Emma coming soon!

Finally Finished!

I finally finished Emma's name for her bedroom. I used 8 inch chipboard and painted the edges then cut paper with decorative scissors and glued paper to chipboard. I added some accessories such as flowers and rhinestones. Then used wall hangers to run ribbon thru and then hung them! I think they turned out so cute! Sorry the picture doesn't really show them well. I used paper with glitter and so they are pretty shiney!

Emma Paige is finally here! She was born at 15:16 Friday and weighed 6 lbs and 15 ozs and was 18.5 inches long! I hope to get some better pictures in the next few days but here is one we took when she was napping (which is most of the time) She is a good baby! Sleeps alot.

Hello everyone! I am sorry I have been missing in action. I went to see my doctor today and she is going to induce me next week. We have finally made it to week 37! Baby's Room Shelf

I bought this unfinished shelf at HL for less than $5 and painted it with Craft acrylic paint. I love the pastel colors and how they turned out. The green and blue panels open up and have little drawers. I used stickers that was left over from my other shelf I made so it all has the same theme.

Baby's Room Wall Art

I bought this kit from a LSS years ago made by Magenta and they make such great framable art. So I decided to make a picture for my baby's room and I think it turned out adorable. Unfortunately my pictures don't do justice because I used some shiny ink pads and Twinkling H2O's and the picture has an awful glare. I am having it framed in a cream white and think it will be a great addition to my baby's room.

I have been trying to get my baby room ready and need some art work. So what else to do but get creative? I found this wooden art at Hobby Lobby for less than $2 and painted it with Acrylic craft paint then added some ribbon and some stickers I found. It took me about 5 minutes to do after I got it painted. I think it will look great above our changing table and we can put things like finger nail clippers and other stuff we don't want baby girl to get a hold of. Now I am working on a shelf with drawers. Hope to have it finished tomorrow so I can start working on a picture I am going to make for her room.

I made this Tri-Fold Shutter card for a friend who gave us a beautiful blanket for our baby. I have been wanting to make one of this forever and finally got a chance to at the class I took at the Grapevine Stamp Convention. Then I had to make some more because they are so much fun! I finally finished another Christmas card! I have not got as many done as I had hoped and my family thinks I am crazy for starting this soon! But every year I never have them done in time so I am hoping to at least have a small stash by starting this early. Unfortunately I also have to start making Thank You cards for my baby shower and I can't seem to get the energy to start. Guess it's because I know I will be mass producing and I hate mass producing! LOL But I had better get a move on because I have already received some beautiful crocheted blankets from some friends and I need to get them a card out!
Anyways I used the SC222 sketch challenge for this fun card! I love the image with the cat hanging there. Reminds me of last Christmas our family cat loved to climb our tree and know the shiny balls off onto the floor!

Birthday card and matching picture frame

As I mentioned in the previous post I took a class at the
Grapevine Stamp Convention from Ruth Burkey on different folded cards. We made a swing card and then did the center of one side with an Iris fold technique. So today I tried to make a birthday card using the same techniques and here is the front of my card. The 2nd picture is a close up of iris fold center. The 3rd photo is the back side opened.

Then I made a picture frame using a blank wooden frame from Michaels that was $1. I used some of the same paper and Modge Podge it to the wood. Stamped my image from MFT and watercolored then used Thick EP to create a glassy look on it. I added her name using stickers and Nesties cut outs.

Wohoo! A Stamp Convention!

This weekend the Heirloom Stamp Convention is in Grapevine, TX! I went this morning and took a great class from Ruth Burkey on different folded cards! It was great! I can't wait to finish the projects I am working on so I can make some more folded cards. Of course I HAD to buy some new stamps and supplies so I will lots of new stuff to keep me busy. Which is good because I need to make lots of birthday cards this month, some how I have depleted my stash!?!

This fun card was made for the SBS26 Sketch challenge. It was a great sketch to work with. I needed a Birthday card and had this image already stamped so it was just a matter of coloring and putting the layers together. I found this fun ribbon in my stash that I had forgotten I had bought at Easter time. I was afraid I had lost my mojo since I haven't stamped in a week or so but I think it was just that I have been too lazy. Or maybe tired since I had worked the last 6 days (10 hour days). Which ever I am getting to where I blame my laziness/tiredness on baby girl! LOL Everyone keeps telling me to take it easy now because after she is born I won't have any free time. Two Challenges in One Card!

The Whiff of Joy Challenge a few weeks back was a color challenge. We were to use blue and brown together in our cards. I thought this sounded like a great challenge since those are colors I don't usually use together, at least not those by themselves. So I dug out this House Mouse stamp which is so adorable and the colors worked beautiful (if I say so myself) for the image. I also used the SC229 sketch which was a really fun sketch. Fun Birthday Card

Here's a card I made for the SCS213 challenge. I never have any masculine cards for birthday and this sketch was perfect for a male card. I have had the confetti paper forever and have never been able to use it but I decided to go with basic colors on this card and it worked perfect! I made the saying with my computer and then cut it with Nesties.

Challenges

Yes, I am behind. There are so many challenges I missed that look like such fun that I have had to go back and play. I saw this one by Jen del Muro on her blog i{heart}2stamp and had to do it. It was a real challenge. First the image I wanted to use was large and so I had to make my base cardstock bigger. Then I made my own flowers! I am so excited because I see all this gorgeous flowers my blogger friends make and so I wanted to try it! I think mine are passable, not as gorgeous as some I've seen but they are my first so now I have gotten over my fear I am hoping to make better ones. I still ran out of room even after making my card longer than usual so had to improvise with just putting a purple flower at the end.

My father in law's birthday is today. I bought this stamp thinking I would use it for Father's Day but I think it makes a great masculine birthday card also. I used the OCCC sketch challenge for this week and it was a fun sketch. I paper pierced the shirt using the same paper that I used for the stripes behind the main image.

Baby update

Whoops! I forgot to update everyone and one of my friends reminded me (Thanks Sharlene). It is a girl! LOL. When I went to the First Trimester tests at 12 ish weeks the Dr said he was 95% sure it was a girl.........well my husband had his hopes for a boy and said that it was WAY too early for them to be able to tell.
Well I am a shopaholic when it comes to baby girl clothes. I mean they are so small, cute and precious how could anyone NOT buy them. So I have spent almost $200 on girl clothes (everything was a bargain so I HAD to buy it LOL) and registered for girl items. My husband has been kidding me for weeks and I knew that if they told me it was a boy I would never live this down.
So when I went into my Dr appt today and said "We should be able to tell the sex for sure today, right?" I got this weird look from the nurse who said "Didn't we tell you it was a girl the last time? " LOL So they verified it again today and yep it's a girl. DH is still questioning this, saying that you always hear about people who have a surprise later on. LOL Poor thing, he so wanted a boy!

I got these cool poinsettias last year at Wal-Mart in the Christmas section and have been wanting to use them forever. They came in a pack with 2 silver and 3 red for $1.97. I saw this sketch and thought it would be perfect for the poinsettias and this Merry Christmas stamp I have had forever. I'm not use if I like the background paper I used but I can live with it. I have been trying to use some of the stamps I purchased over the last year but never used. I used to put all my new stamps on the corner of my desk until I used them but it was getting too cluttered so I had to put them in my stamp drawers. Unfortunately I then forgot about them. Sigh! So I am trying to dig in and use some of my new stamps! Here is a fun stamp I bought at the stamp convention they had in Grapevine this year. I think the flower is so simple and elegant. Not sure if I like it layered on the black, but I love the Basic Grey paper that I used. I popped up the flower and part of the butterfly although it is hard to tell from the photo.

Good to be home!

We are back from our trip to Branson! We had a great time, but it is so nice to be home! Nothing like sleeping in your own bed! We came home a day earlier than we originally planned because we thought we might need to rest up after our trip! LOL. Monday is the BIG day! We are going to find out if it's a boy or girl. It had better co-operate too, because Mommy has been a stress case since last month thinking they would do the ultrasound then and tell me! I am definitely a Type A personality and suspense is not good for me! LOL Hope everyone has had a great week and I hope to catch up on my blog reading tomorrow!

Stamp La Jolla Fun

I bought this stamp at a Stamp Convention but haven't had a chance to use it. I wanted to participate in the SC227 challenge and this stamp was perfect. I love the bunny stamps at Stamp La Jolla, they are so adorable! I showed this card to my husband and he said "what's it drinking?" LOL, no the bunny is not drinking, it is holding sun tan lotion. The bottle says "Bunny Don't Burn" I paper pierced the Happy Birthday sign with matching paper from the band, although it is hard to tell since it is such a small area.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Tomorrow is Memorial Day and Cards for Heros at cardsforheros.org is having a bloghop to honor our troops and veterans. The Cards for Heros is a non-profit organization that collects greeting cards to send to our troops overseas. With this bloghop they are trying to get the word out to more crafters to donate cards and to people who are able to donate money to send the packages of cards overseas.
There are over 135 blogs participating and there are a lot of chances to win some blog candy so go check it out here. There is more information about how you can help on their home page. So if you are like me and make cards and put them in a stash, think about donating them to our troops. There are a few rules such as no glitter (sticks to uniforms and can be seen at night) and you can find the rest of the tips for the cards here.

Stamping or house work, hmmmm?

So instead of cleaning my house today, I have been playing in my stamp room. And no I wasn't cleaning it! Oh well, I guess my house will have to wait for another day! LOL
I made this fun card for the challenge at Stampers Dream #7
which was too use includes colors, texture and bling. The colors to use were Island Mist Prismatics medium, Blush Red Prismatics dark, and either Birchtone Prismatics light OR Suede Brown Prismatics dark for your neutrals. I didn't have the exact colors but I think the colors I used are very close. I also had fun with the challenge at Mothers and Daughters Creations which was to use a popped up or layered image.
I wasn't too sure about how it would turn out since I had never used this stamp before but I am quite happy with the results. I colored the image by sponging with ink pads. Also the ribbon I used was cream color but I inked it to match. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been such a bad blogger the last few weeks. Ok, ok last few months! I promise I will do better now. No more TV shows to follow since House and American Idol are finished for the season. It is amazing how involved a person can get with TV shows! My inventory went smooth and I am now on vacation!!
My DH and I are going to go to Branson, MO next week to have our last vacation together before the baby comes. We are very excited since we have never been there before. Then when we get back we are going to have the ultrasound that will hopefully tell us if we are expecting a girl or boy! I am so anxious to know the suspense has been killing me! LOL
I hope to get some stamping done and make a few post before we go. Hope everyone has a great weekend! It is suppose to rain here so great weather for stamping and napping!

Mothers Day Card

Mother's Day is this Sunday and I finally started working on my cards. Yes, I am a procrastinator in denial! I always TRY to start early but never actually get around to it until the last minute. In this instance, the last week! At least I've started and actually finished one!
I discovered I didn't have a lot of Mother's Day stamps so I decided to go with the MFT set. I wasn't very happy with it but kept adding things and I think the finished product is okay. I debated on the flower but finally decided to keep it on. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Ok, so I didn't get to spend my entire weekend crafting like I wanted to. But I did stamp today and since I haven't stamped in almost a month I participated in 2 challenges, the SCS226 sketch and the Cute Card Thursday challenge of mirror, mirror.

For the mirror, mirror challenge I used a metal Thanks tag I found at my LSS, copper rhinestones and brass paper from DCWV Metallic stack.

I was looking through JC Penny's Baby Room catalog and found this cute bedding set with brown and pink Lady Bugs and then had this cute stamp from DRS that was perfect so I went with that as my color theme.

I got my new Nesties Label 1 and Label 2 in the mail! So of course I had to find some time to play this weekend!! My sister is a high school math teacher and she has some students graduating this year and asked me to make some graduation cards. So, of course I HAD to run to the LSS and buy some stamps! LOL The school's colors are black and gray (very boring colors) so I am trying to make cards using those colors. I have finally had some time off and have been feeling better so I have been stamping again! I made this fun card following SC218 sketch. This image is so cute with the little boy holding two frogs that I had to use some ribbon that says "Smile" on it that I found at the LSS. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Then I made another birthday card using the Make A Wish from DRS for my sister's birthday. I gave it to her today so I can finally post it. I used the SC221 sketch. I really like the colors that are in this card. I don't use them often but I found those wonderful Petaloo flowers on clearance at Hobby Lobby so I had to incorporate them! LOL. I seperated the candles from the saying and then used the same color cardstock to layer them on.

Make a Wish!

I haven't stamped or crafted in almost 3 weeks. Sorry I have been a bad blogger lately but this pregnancy stuff is crazy. I'm so tired all the time and nausea is a big problem! Our ultrasound went well. Everything looked great and the heartbeat was VERY strong! My DH and I just looked at each other with relief when we heard that heartbeat! I don't have to see my doctor again until the first of April.

Enough about that! Here is my first attempt at stamping after not having the energy to for 3 weeks! It was a pretty fast card to make. My DH said it wasn't one of my best but oh well, maybe my mojo will come back after this. LOL. I am trying to get my Birthday card stash built up so that I have some ready in advance.

I added a pearl rhinestone to her necklace just to carry on the look. SBG1 Challenge #5 The Pink Laundry

The challenge for the SBG1 was from Siobhan at Adventures from the Monkey Hut. She came up with a challenge using the laundry room (pink with zebra print) of Stephanie Vest, an amazing woman who recently lost her battle to cancer.

Here is my card for the challenge. I couldn't find any zebra print in my stash so I used the black, white and pink theme but added lots of bling around the main image since there was a very blingy chandelier in the laundry room.

How about a birthday card with a Valentine's theme?

I didn't get much opportunity this year to make Valentine's cards. So I thought I'd make a card with Valentine's colors for a birthday card. LOL. I stamped my image, watercolored with my Tombott markers then cut out (very hard to cut out!) Layered image on cream and pink cardstock. I used the same layers for the Happy Birthday except I distressed it. I added Stickles to cakes and had an "oops" and smeared the ink/stickles on the cream cardstock and so to cover it up I went ahead and spread it around. LOL I think it turned out okay even with the "oopsi" I used the SC140 sketch.

Fun Birthday card

I made a birthday card today for 2 challenges; PCP color challenge which was to use Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, and Yo Yo Yellow and the I {heart} to stamp sketch by Jen del Muro for this week. They were both fun challenges! My colors for the color challenge might have been off alittle because I used non-SU papers and inks but I think they are pretty close. I stamped the image onto vellum then colored the backside with my Tombott markers. I used MS dimensional daisy stickers from WM and altered them by removing the yellow center, punching hole, adding brads.

House-Mouse Homewarming Card

My first House-Mouse card! Yea! I love their images and found this one at HL. I have always been afraid of coloring the mice really BAD, but I think they turned out cute. I don't have a lot of home warming images but thought this was kinda cute and would work. I used the SCS 214 sketch from SplitCoastStampers. It was a fun sketch to use and worked well with this image.

DeNami and Twinkling H2O's

Here is a card I made using the SC200 sketch challenge over at SCS. It was a fun challenge to do. I used the DeNami Trifly stamp set, stamped on vellum, embossed with gold ep, then colored with Twinkling H2O's. I used flowers from Wal-Mart and colored one with my Tombott markers. Unfortunately the color didn't match as well as I thought it would, but it works. If you look closely at the bottom layer of bp you will see some blue and that is why I added the blue as a contrast color. I have been wanting to use this set forever, knew what I wanted to use this sketch and I finally had time. I think it turned out okay.

Here in Texas the weather has been so beautiful. It was in the 80s today and so gorgeous I wanted to play out in my garden so bad, but I had to work instead :( Instead I am planning on getting out this Sunday, which I've heard it is NOT suppose to be as nice. Oh well, spring is getting closer!

I made this card tonight for a friend who has been under the weather. I think it turned out pretty cute. I always show my finished card to my husband and he usually goes uh-huh nice. Tonight he said "I think that's the best card you've made." Thanks honey! Your the best!

I will come back and give specifics. Sorry but I have to open tomorrow and need lots of beauty sleep so I can be nice to all the sick patients! LOL

I made this card for a pharmacist that I work with who's birthday was today. I used the challenge SC209 at SplitCoastStampers. Of course, I am a few weeks behind on the challenge (who would have ever guessed I was behind ??....LOL) I colored her with my new Prismacolor pencils that the mailman delivered to my doorstep on Friday. Thanks Mr. Mailman!
I think she turned out "cupcake yummylicious! :)
And I even sacrificed 3 pattern papers on this card! It was really hard to give that many up to one card, but I managed to convince myself that my paper stash would be fine with out these small pieces of paper! LOL

SCS #3 Challenge

Yes, I am late as always. Here is my take on the SCS #3 Challenge that Gale hosted. I created this card based on the pictures of the children playing in the snow. I wanted to make it with another color than just blue and I think the green and blue worked well together. Look at my baby! She is guarding my treasures. I had to take a picture of the goodies I bought at the Heirloom Stamp Convention in Grapevine, Texas today. Angel (my puppy) guarded them so they wouldn't get lost in my room before I had a chance to play with them! LOL

Now I just have to find time to play with all my goodies. I really need to make a few birthday cards this week. Here's hoping nothing will interfere with my stamping plans this week. (NO evals, writing schedules or working overtime allowed this week!)

Stamp Convention

For those of you who live nearby and didn't know, the Heirloom Stamp Convention is happening this weekend in Grapevine, Texas. I didn't get to go today :( but tomorrow I am going to be there bright and early (well maybe not, I'm never early LOL). Can't wait to check out all the new and fun stuff there! I made a get better card for one of my technicians who had foot surgery this week. I used the SCS sketch challenge from a few weeks ago (SC202) but had to change it alittle to get my saying on the side. Yes, I know I am a couple of weeks behind in blogging. LOL. Between the holidays and work getting busier due to cough/cold season I could be behind for awhile, but I am trying to catch up. I have been blog hopping to see what my SBS group and SCS blogger buddies have been up to. Some of you already are working on Valentines. Yikes! I am really feeling behind now.

Well first off let me apologize for being a bad blogger. We had my work Christmas party today and then Thanksgiving kept us busy the two weekends before that. Then I have been working on making these CD holders for a co-worker who is a cheerleading coach. She made each girl a music CD and needed a cool CD holder for them. And how cool are these? I think the girls will totally LOOVVEE them.

Thanksgiving cards

This year I made some Thanksgiving cards and used a stamp I have had for years. I love this harvest wagon and haven't found another "Thanksgiving-ish" image that I like as much. So I used this image and instead of mass producing the same card I mass produced the image and then made each card's layout and colors different. It was so much funner (is that a word?) than mass producing the same card. It was a challenge to make each card different and special in
it's own way. I was very please with how they all turned out. Unfortunately my time only allowed me to make them for my family. Next year I am going to do the mass producing the same way with hopefully another image and start sooner so I can make them for all my friends also....Sorry friends :(

I made this card for one of my friends in Washington state who recently had a baby girl. I tried to follow a sketch at iheart2stamp.com found here. I had to adjust my layout a little to accommodate the larger saying but I think the card turned out cute.

I WON some Blog Candy!

MIA Kitty

Here is a picture of Maggie, the cat that we discovered on our back porch this spring. She was hurt so my DH took her to the vet and after a few weeks of pampering and some good food she has become "our cat." She has the sweetist nature and is a good cat (usually). When she was hurt my DH would have to turn her on her back and pour peroxide on her wounds and she would just lay in his

arms and not fuss at all (even when she had to take her antibotics.)

Maggie loves to still go outside and play. She will sit in front of the

door and meow and meow until she gets to go out. So on Sunday morning she wanted out and that was the last we saw her until yesterday. My DH went up and down the subdivision looking for her. We called for her, left the front lights on at night and cracked our garage door because she likes to sneak in there sometimes. No Maggie, DH was really upset because Maggie has become his pal. Her bed, food and toys are in his office and she will sleep in there and keep him company all night. Then out of the blue a neighbor came up to our house (we are a new subdivision and don't really know any of our neighbors yet.) She had discovered Maggie on her roof when her dogs were barking. She went from house to house trying to find Maggie's owner (our phone# had smeared on her tag). So our dear beloved MIA kitty has been returned!!! So I made our neighbor a Thank You card and purchased

this fun Snow Man Boxes that are filled with cookies and candy at Wal-Mart. DH says I'm being "corny" but I really appreciate this lady's kindness. She didn't have to go from house to house to find the owner, she could have just set her down and let her find her own way home.

I used the SC201 sketch from SCS and tried to follow the color sketch CC101 but I didn't have the exact colors so tried to use colors in the same family.

SBG1 challenge

Yea! I am finally done! I was afraid I wouldn't finish it. This is my take on the 1st SCS Group #1's challenge and also my first card I made for Heidi's cause (see here for more info on Heidi's cause). The challenge was to create a card using blue and black colors. I sponged blue over the white cardstock I used but for some reason my picture shows white :( I also colored the ribbon with my Tombott marker to make the white stripe blue, the picture faded out the blue. I used a Fourishes stamp set that I had never used before. The only hard part was cutting out those little flowers. If you look you can see I don't cut circles very well. LOL

SBS #26

Ooops! Sorry I didn't think of explaining what is was. If you look on my left column you will see a pink badge saying "Sisterhood 26 of Blogging Stampers" and when you click on it you will go to the SBS website. Basically it is a group of 20 stampers who blog and like to view other bloggers website and leave comments. There are now 26 groups and the 26th group is still accepting new sisters. So you join the group and go to each others blogs, leave comments and encouragement at least once a week. I joined the SCS blogger group and have had so much fun that I thought I would join another blogger group and the SBS Group #26 looks like fun.

CD Holder

Here is a CD holder that I made as an example for someone who was needing to make some CD holders for their cheerleading squad. I made this one into a birthday CD holder by following the tutorial at SCS that was shared by Cindy Lyles. I used my Nestabilities and CB folders for the layers and the Happy Birthday ribbon holder. Then distressed the edges to finish them.

Late Halloween post

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I was working on my Halloween treats and didn't want anyone to have a "peek" before Halloween. Everyone has gotten their treat now so I can show you what I made. I used my CB folder to emboss the orange cardstock and the black ribbon pulls the Reese's candy up. They were really fun and actually pretty fast to make. I hope everyone had a great Halloween and has recovered from the sugar rush!

OCCC Challenge

I finally had time to stamp today. I got to play with OMS for the 1st time! I had asked some others if they preferred OMS or baby oil and everyone said OMS. So I HAD to buy some OMS (which can be hard to do when I live an hour from a LSS or craft store). I finally got some this week and tried it out. Gotta say I am totally converted to OMS now! LOVE it! I found a really fun sketch at OCCC from last week and thought I'd give it a try.
